How much does website maintenance cost in the UK?+

Our website maintenance plans start at £49/month for a brochure site and £99/month for WordPress, WooCommerce or higher-traffic sites. That covers updates, security monitoring, daily backups, performance checks, uptime monitoring, bug fixes and a fixed allowance of content changes — billed monthly, no long contract.

What's included in a typical maintenance plan?+

Plugin, theme and CMS updates (tested on staging first), 24/7 uptime and security monitoring, daily off-site backups, monthly performance checks, broken-link and contact-form testing, an allowance of content changes, and direct access to a senior developer when something needs attention.

Do you offer website maintenance in Dorset and the wider south coast?+

Yes. We're based in the New Forest (Hampshire / Dorset border) and look after websites for businesses across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, the Isle of Wight and the rest of the UK. Everything is done remotely with the option of on-site meetings for clients within an hour's drive.

How quickly do you respond to support requests?+

Most requests are acknowledged within a couple of hours during business hours and resolved the same day. Anything affecting a live site — site down, payment failures, security alerts — is treated as urgent and worked on immediately, 7 days a week.

Can you take over a website you didn't originally build?+

Yes — we take on a lot of "inherited" sites. We start with a free audit to map the stack, identify risks and confirm we can support it. Most WordPress, WooCommerce, Webflow and custom PHP sites are straightforward; we'll tell you honestly if your platform isn't a good fit.

What happens if my website is hacked or goes down?+

Our monitoring flags it within minutes. We restore from the most recent clean backup, identify how the issue happened, patch the vulnerability and harden the site so it doesn't happen again. For maintenance clients, recovery is included — no surprise emergency-fix invoice.

How often do you actually update my site?+

Core, plugin and theme updates are reviewed weekly and applied at least monthly — on a staging environment first, so nothing breaks in production. Security-critical patches are applied as soon as they're released, not on a schedule.

Can I cancel the maintenance plan?+

Yes — plans are rolling monthly with 30 days' notice. We'd rather earn the next month than lock you in. We'll also hand over backups, documentation and access cleanly if you ever move on.

Do I still need maintenance if my hosting includes "updates"?+

Usually yes. Most hosts only auto-update WordPress core (and even that can break sites). Maintenance covers the parts hosts won't touch — plugin compatibility testing, theme conflicts, broken forms, content changes and the actual diagnosing of issues when something does go wrong.

What's the difference between hosting and maintenance?+

Hosting is the infrastructure — server, SSL, uptime, daily backups. Maintenance is the human work on the site itself — updates, fixes, content changes and ongoing improvement. Many clients take both as a single bundle; you can see the combined plan on our hosting page.
